Dr. Walter S. E. Hardy Scholarship Brunch

Each year we raise funds to support the Knoxville Area Urban League Minority Scholarship program, honoring Dr. Walter S. E. Hardy, one of the first African-American physician in Knoxville. We also honor Dr. Hardy by partnering with local philanthropic organizations to support the city’s “Go Green” initiative, cleaning up and planting shrubs at a park named for him, while teaching local students about science and technology. These scholarships in Dr. Hardy’s name support students pursuing degrees in the healthcare profession.

National Day of Service (NDoS) & National Day of Empowerment (NDoE)

National days of initiative, NDoS and NDoE are shared among our 50+ sister chapters, nationwide. While NDoS focuses on GREEN Initiatives with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (S.T.E.+A.M), NDoE focuses on entrepreneurship among small minority businesses.

National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) JOIN WEEK

An exciting, highly concentrated blitz of activity, JOIN WEEK encourages awareness of NULYP local chapters through the participation of young professionals in their communities by developing business leaders across industries, empowering members through education and sharing.
